16-year-old Dilynn Turner was involved in a serious car accident on January 2nd.
She was rushed to Cullman Regional Medical Center, intubated, and later transferred to Huntsville Hospital Trauma ICU. A few days later, she underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure and swelling in her brain.
In addition to her traumatic brain injury, Dilynn suffered a broken tibia and fibula that required surgery. Over the following weeks, she endured multiple procedures, including the placement of a ventricular drain, a tracheostomy, and a feeding tube. On January 29th, she was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, where she will remain for several months to receive intensive rehabilitation and specialized care.
Every day brings new challenges, but also meaningful victories. Her family has celebrated moments once taken for granted—Dilynn opening her eyes, responding to voices, and showing small but powerful signs of progress. She now faces a long road of rehabilitation as she relearns everyday skills.
Funds are being raised to help cover:
• Medical bills and hospital expenses not covered by insurance
• Ongoing rehabilitation and therapy
• Travel, lodging, and meals so her family can stay by her side
• Everyday living expenses while caregivers are unable to work
A Bike & Car Show Fundraiser will be held to support Dilynn and her family.
